The body of a 65 year old man has been recovered from a beach in Connemara after being reported missing yesterday.
The man’s body was recovered from Mannin beach yesterday evening shortly after 8pm.
An extensive search of the area around Ballyconneely took place yesterday involving members of the local community, gardaà and emergency services.
It’s understand that the man was reported missing after he could not be found in the area of his home earlier that day.
The Coast Guard and units from Clifden Fire Brigade were also involved in the search alongside locals and gardaÃ.
A garda spokesperson said that the man’s remains were taken to Galway mortuary and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
