The Moycullen Road out of Barna is closed between Barna Village and Barna Golf Club again as emergency services deal with the gorse fire which has reignited.
Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes as firefighters tackle the blaze which began at lunchtime yesterday.
Several units of the fire brigade were at the scene throughout yesterday, with smoke from the fire being seen from miles away.
The fire is not expected to cause issues into tomorrow, however, rain is not expected in Galway until Saturday.
