A medical centre in Ballygar has been significantly damaged after a fire tore through the building this morning.
Vaccinations were scheduled at Dr Martin Daly’s surgery this week – but the local doctor says he is certain that people in the area will receive their vaccinations despite this morning’s blaze.
The fire began at approximately 7.30 this morning and the fire service arrived at the scene by 7.45am.
All medical records were saved online and a temporary practice is to be set up in a former Nursing Home.
The medical centre in Ballygar is owned by well-known local GP Martin Daly and his wife Myriam. In October, Dr Martin Daly raised concerns about a nursing home in Ballinasloe at which 22 of 24 residents tested positive for COVID-19.
