Atlantic Technological University is erecting a new monument with a memorial for deceased students on its Galway City Campus.
The city council has granted planning permission for the memorial wall monument at ATU’s campus grounds on the Dublin Road.
The monument sculpture, which includes a memorial wall, will be erected next the iconic library building.
The new monument, which forms the shape of a trinity knot when viewed from above, will replace an existing one on site.
Planning permission for the monument was granted by the city council with five standard conditions attached.
