Athlone Towncentre is showing off the best it has to offer this Friday August 3 with its ‘Friday’s Most Stylish’ competition down at the Galway Races.
With the competition in its sixth year, the spotlight will be on fashion forward style reflected by the contemporary retailers housed within Athlone Towncentre.
This year’s competition has the largest heap of rewards to be won yet, with €3,000 worth of prizes drawn from the very best shops and services Athlone has to offer.
The big winner will get €1,500 shopping trip to Athlone Towncentre, as well as luxury stay at the Sheraton Hotel, a Gucci watch courtesy of Fields The Jeweller, and a bespoke headpiece created by Milliner Suzie Mahony.
Athlone Towncentre Manager Shirley Delahunt said, “We have seen a real evolution of style at the races over the last number of years which perfectly complements the 60 high street stores and boutiques we house in Athlone Towncentre.
“This competition and its previous winners have demonstrated that racing style is now more about reflecting ones’ individual personality and flair for style as opposed to spending an exorbitant amount of money on clothing one cannot wear more than a handful of times.”
Celebrity judges Anna Geary, camogie player and tv personality, and Marietta Doran, Fashion Stylist and Racing Style Presenter, are joined by last year’s winner, Rebecca Rose, as a special guest judge.
Following her own win last year, Rebecca has been building a career for herself as a professional Stylist with a an eye for combining high street and boutique apparel for the unique looks that appeal to judges.
Judging for the ‘Friday’s Most Stylish’ competition will begin at 3:30pm throughout Galway Racecourse. Finalists will be announced at 6pm in The Athlone Towncentre Marquee, with the overall winner being called ten minutes later.
Talking about her excitement for the day, Anna Geary said: “I am thrilled to be part of such a fashion filled day as ‘Friday’s Most Stylish’ sponsored by Athlone Towncentre at Galway Races. I especially love to see how people put their own stamp on their outfit,”
“Whether it’s a self-made piece, or attention to the finer details to finish off their ‘look’. People put so much effort into getting ready, using their style instinct to mix pieces from high street stores with boutique gems. It is this individual flair for style that I’ll be looking for on the day.”
Fashion bloggers Two Broke Divas will be taking over Athlone Towncentre’s Facebook and Instagram accounts for the day.
They’ll be making a spectacle of all the style on display, as well as giving viewers a look behind the scenes that day.
Athlone Towncentre has over 60 shopping brands under one roof including Zara, River Island and H&M as well as boutiques and a wide palette of food offerings.
