Galway Daily news Approval sought to convert shuttered Miss Selfridge to restaurant use
The now vacant premises at Edward Square were formerly a Miss Selfridge store up to 2019.

Planning permission is being sought to convert the former Miss Selfridge store in Galway City Centre to restaurant use.

Camiveo Ltd, the operators of Edward Square Shopping Centre, are seeking approval for a change of permitted use of the now vacant unit.

Miss Selfridge in Galway was one of the first casualties among retail outlets in Ireland when its UK parent company, Arcadia Ltd, ran into financial problems in 2019

Almost 500 people in Ireland lost their jobs when retail outlets for Topshop/Topman, Miss Selfridge and elsewhere were affected when Arcadia later went into liquidation.

Work on the change from a clothing store to restaurant use would include installing an extraction pipe at the rear of the premises.

A decision on this planning application is due from Galway City Council by May 10 of this year.
