Planning permission has been granted for a new gym at Gateway Retail Park in Knocknacarra.
Targeted Investment Opportunities sought approval for revisions to Phase 2 plans for Gateway Retail Park to changed to use of two retails units and merge them into one gym.
The plans pertain to the ground and first floors of Unit 15 at the retail park, and the first floor of Unit 18.
The ground floor of Unit 15, which is to be subdivided, will remain for retail use.
Phase 2 of Gateway Retail Park was granted planning permission in 2017, and is currently under construction.
It aims to provide a wider range of retail and leisure uses to the District Centre, which already has shopping facilities from the first phase of the project.
Galway City Council granted planning permission with just one condition attached, that work be carried out in line with the plans submitted to the council.
