Minister for Disability Anne Rabbitte will host a public meeting with Minster for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue TD this evening in Athenry.
The ‘Working for Rural Ireland’ event is taking place in the Community Hall at 8.45pm, and will see Minister McConalogue discuss a range of issues facing farmers and their families across Galway.
He will also outline his plans for the next number of years to support rural Ireland and take questions from those in attendance.
Minister Anne Rabbitte said that she is delighted to host her colleague and good friend in Athenry today.
“Taking place in the Community Hall, farmers from across Galway East can pose their questions directly to the Minister and hear first-hand his plans for the sector over the next couple of years,” she said.
“Minister McConalogue knows the importance of farming in Galway East having visited different parts of the county with me since 2020, as well as the difficulties facing farm families.
“He is keen to hear from people directly about what they see as working and where extra focus is needed, whether that relates to CAP, Climate Change and the different schemes being rolled out for farmers.”
