Athenry Agricultural Show, one of the longest running in Ireland, is returning this weekend after two years of cancellations.

The show will take place tomorrow, Sunday May 22, with a wide range of events including Equine and Showjumping, many of which are qualifiers for national events.

There are also Show Classes for livestock, poultry, home baking, vegetables, flowers and arrangements, crafts, art & photography, and a dog show.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome you all back to Athenry in 2022 after a long spell away,” the blurb for this year’s show states/

“During our absence, we have been diligently working away and collaborating with the Men’s Shed Athenry on making our show better and better for our patrons and visitors.”

“In 2019, Teagasc’s Mellows Campus hosted the Show and it was an enormous success. We a very proud to say that we will be at Mellows Campus for this year’s show also.”

This year marks the 133rd year of the Athenry Agricultural Show.
