UHG is the third most overcrowded hospital in Ireland again today with 44 patients on trolleys according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The daily Trolley/Ward Watch from the INMO, which tracks of the number of patients without a bed in Irish public hospitals, says there are a total 574 people on trolleys today.
The worst affected is University Hospitals Limerick, as it is every day, with 58 people without a bed.
This is followed by Cork University Hospital, only slightly edging out UHG with 45 people without a bed.
Back in Galway, Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe is having a better day of it as there is only one person waiting on a trolleys in its Emergency Department.
