Ten more people have died after being diagnosed with COVID-19, the Department of Health has confirmed.

In the last 24 hours, there have been 200 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,615.

This figure is almost a third less than on Friday and Saturday.

Galway remains the third most affected county after Dublin and Cork, with 68 cases as of midnight, 27 March.

Of the ten people who died since yesterday, six were located in the east, three in the northwest, and one in the south of the country.

Eight were male and two were female and the median age of the reported deaths is 77.

The latest data available shows that 506 cases are associated with healthcare workers.

There have now been a total of 46 COVID-19 related deaths in the Republic and 67 on the island of Ireland.
