There’s just one hurdle left for Galway man Brendan Murray before the X-Factor endgame as he goes into the semi-finals this Saturday.
The 21 year old Tuam native made it through to the semi-finals after wowing judges and crowds last Saturday with his rendition of A Great Big World’s Say Something.
According to young singer he wants to make it through to the finals so that his dad, who’s campaigned relentlessly on his behalf, will have an excuse to head over from Galway.
Brendan tweeted excitedly after making it through last weekend to thank all of his fans who’ve brought him this far, “Thank you so much to everyone for believing in me and supporting me. I’m delighted to be where I am.

But he narrowly missed out with his performance of the song Dying to Try.

In the month since making it through the group stage in October, Brendan has been vocal with his gratitude towards the people that have helped him along the way, namely his father and x-factor mentor Louis Tomlinson.
“If he hadn’t pushed me out the door and gave me the confidence to go for X factor I don’t know where I’d be right now,” Brendan said of his father on Instagram,.
“If I’m ever lucky enough to have kids when I’m older, I hope I can push them to follow they’re dreams as he’s done for me. Best man I know”
The singer credits Louis Tomlinson with helping him keep his nerve after a rough start on the show, saying that Louis understands the pressure as he’d been through that exact same experience.
Thank you man for all your help ❤️ https://t.co/Y1NTTCOD2X
