The winners of the Irish Pubs Global Awards were hosted last week in the Galmont Hotel, Galway.

Galway was well represented with two winners on the night, including the prestigious Global Marketing Campaign Award.

Two Forster Street bars took home the accolades, with the newly opened Hyde Bar and Gin Parlour winning the prize for “Best Marketing Campaign” in both Ireland and also the overall Global award, and the crowd favourite An Púcán was named as the best venue in Ireland to watch sport.

Irish Hospitality Global is an organisation designed to support Irish Hospitality business owners, managers and their suppliers, to help ensure their continued success and to benefit job creation in Ireland and abroad though the sectors of hospitality and tourism.

The night was attended by members from all over the world with the support of Galway Convention Bureau and local Professional Conference Organisers Go West.

The winners were selected after an exhaustive search, involving a publicly nominated shortlist and a rigorous judging process, and pubs across the country picked up gongs for being top of their game, with Dublin, Galway, Meath, and Limerick represented, and Toners Pub on Baggott Street in Dublin coming away with the Irish Pub of the Year award.

Group Sales and Marketing Manager for the Connacht Hospitality Group Eveanna Ryan said: “The award for Hyde was extra special as it was the first award for the newly opened venue and that the launch of Hyde Bar was a huge team effort, from the behind the scenes staff to the front of house team, everyone combined to make the campaign what it was and HYDE continues to go from strength to strength and we are equally proud of An Púcan which is also part of the group and continues to be one of Galway’s most popular pubs.”
