The Box Office for the 2019 Galway International Arts Festival has opened this week for people looking to get in early for some great shows.
Galway International Arts Festival has opened its doors this year at a brand new location at the Cornstore on Middle Street.
Tickets for any event will be on sale at the box office Monday – Saturday from 10am – 5pm until 6 July.
From July 8 until the end of the Festival the box office opening hours will be extended from Monday-Saturday 10am-7pm and on Sundays from 12pm-5pm.
This year’s Arts Festival brings the best artists from Ireland and all around the world to venues all around the city.
The famed Heineken Big Top is returning to play host to 21 music acts including Macy Gray, the Grammy Award-winning R&B icon; the legendary Burt Bacharach with his many iconic hits; as well as Bell X1, a double-bill with Villagers and John Grant, Two Door Cinema Club, The Academic, The Coronas and many more.
With anywhere between five and ten different shows being performed on any given day during the festival, Galway audiences will be spoiled for choice throughout this extraordinary fortnight.
The Festival Garden is returning to Eyre Square and there are plenty of free and family events including the hugely popular ‘The People Build’ and an extensive visual arts programme.
The 2019 theatre programme alone includes five world premieres and four Irish premieres including an explosive new opera from Irish National Opera Least Like the Other, based on the life of Rosemary Kennedy, sister of JFK.
Galway International Arts Festival receives its primary support from funding agencies the Arts Council and Fáilte Ireland, Drinks Partner Heineken and Education Partner NUI Galway.
