Murphy’s Ice Cream has launched their new Micil Irish Cream flavour outside their shop on High Street, Galway City.
Shoppers were treated to samples of the new Christmas flavour as well as the award-winning Irish Cream Liqueur from Micil Distillery.
The two award-winning Irish producers came together to produce a creamy Christmas flavour combining Murphys Ice Cream with Micil’s Irish Cream Liqueur, which has just won Best Irish Cream at the 2022 World Liqueur Awards.
Speaking at the launch, Rosalyn O’Connor, Murphy’s NPD Manager, said they use Micil Irish Cream to give our ice cream a “luxurious blend of sweet Irish whiskey, rich Irish cream, and smooth Connemara poitín.”
She said that Micil Distillery is a like-minded Irish producer, using only the highest quality ingredients sourced as close to home as possible and is a perfect fit with Murphy’s Ice Cream.
Founder of Galway’s first distillery in 100 years, Pádraic Ó Griallais from Micil said that this is a “fantastic collaboration working with premium Ice Cream maker Murphy’s – Irish dairy, poitín and cream liqueur!”
“Our grandmother used to make this cream liqueur over the years. We only brought it to market in December 2021 and are thrilled with Best Irish Cream at the 2022 World Liqueur Awards.”
