Galway Daily life & style workshop in Ballinasloe will explore mental health using the creative arts

A workshop to help people explore and express mental health through creative arts will take place in Ballinasloe early in the new year.

Galway 2020 in conjunction with Red Door Studio and Ballinasloe Library present Connecting, as part of First Fortnight 2019, the only mental health orientated arts festival.

This will be an interactive workshop that’ll give people a fun and supportive space to interact with others through creative arts.

With the help of trained art therapists people can express the importance of connection to good mental health.

This event is part of First Fortnight 2019, an organisation and arts festival that expressly challenges the prejudices surrounding mental health using the arts.

Having first put on its annual-two week arts festival in 2012, next year will be the first time First Fortnight is hosting the European Mental Health Festival.

Over 150 events will take place in towns and cities all over Ireland throughout January, including other to come in Galway.

This workshop is aimed at adults, no artistic experience is required and all materials will be provided.

It will take place at Ballinasloe Library on January 9 at 11am.

All are welcome at this free workshop, but places must be booked ahead of time.
