Some of Galway’s finest young performers are bringing a collection of classic short stories from Oscar Wilde to the stage this month in The Star Child.
The Star Child is an imaginative dramatisation by Galway Youth Theatre of The Happy Prince, The Selfish Giant and The Star Child stories penned by Oscar Wilde.
Described as a “haunting, magical fairytale collection”, The Star Child has been adapted for the stage by Mary Elizabeth Burke-Kennedy and directed by Andrew Flynn.
The tales are woven together with a large ensemble of incredible performers, eye catching puppetry, and live music composed by Carl Kennedy.
The Star Child is on each day at 4:30pm in Nuns’ Island Theatre from July 15-28 during Galway International Arts Festival, with no show on Sunday, July 21.
Tickets are €14 and the play has a duration of 1hr 30mins with no interval.
