Local acapella choir kicking off Culture Night at the Pálás

Join the popular local a-capella choir The Blue Notes for a night of soul, rock, pop and R’n’B this Culture Night at the Pálás Cinema.

The contemporary choir will be kicking off Culture Night on September 20 with a performance at Screen 3 of the Pálás starting at 7pm.

Expect some popular hits from their varied repertoire including ‘White Winter Hymnal’ by the Fleet Foxes, ‘How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You’ by Marvin Gaye and ‘Sweet Dreams’ by the Eurythmics.

Joining them for the event will be Grey + Ginger Clothing, a Galway based unique and socially aware design company led by Peter Bradley.

He will be further nurturing attendees’ senses with a beautiful visual art display that will be projected onto the big screen throughout the choir’s performance.

Afterwards Peter will take to the stage to talk about his work, drawing inspiration from trailblazing socially conscious movements and faces and mixing it with his own creativity.

As an extra added bonus, The Blue Notes Choir will also be debuting a project they have been busy working over for the last number of months with Galway based filmmakers, Heavy Man Films.

This film follows The Blue Notes themselves from their debut at the Galway Hearts Festival in July 2017, just three weeks after coming together.

Culture Night Blue Notes

The brainchild of musician and multi-instrumentalist Tracy Bruen, who founded it along with owner of The Blue Note bar Malachy Duggan, the choir has grown from strength to strength over the years.

Now it is comprised of more than 35 members who continue to entertain their audiences with their wide-ranging repertoire of songs.

Their biggest gig to date has been at Electric Picnic where they performed on the Body & Soul Main
Stage in 2018.

There is no charge to attend the event but as seating is limited, booking is required. You can reserve your ticket at Pálás Galway box office or at Culture-Night-The-Blue-Notes-Choir
