Galway Daily life & style Bad weather play day

Anyone who has lived in Galway for longer than a week knows that escaping from the bad weather is a fool’s errand, so why not embrace it with the Bad Weather Play Day.

Children and Families across Galway city and county are being invited out for a day of outdoor fun that celebrates the bad weather which is a part of life here.

The joint project from Galway 2020 and Hope It Rains will feature rain-painting, bingo, mud kitchens, adventure-play with Venture Out, kite flying, weather wanders, puddle-jumping, build your own water-blaster, and much more.

Learn from play experts, artists and activists about how we can create more outdoor play opportunities for children in Galway.

Patricia Philbin, Chief Executive of Galway 2020 said “We are delighted to be partnering with this project that will effect a change in our relationship with Galway’s weather – that we will celebrate that it rains”.

This free event will take place at Renville Park in Oranmore on Bank Holiday Monday, October 28 from 11am to 4pm.

Register for the day here, take out the wellies and hope that it rains for once in your life.
