Galway Daily life & Style applications open for city council 2019 arts grant scheme

Galway city council is now accepting applications from organisations or arts groups for the Arts Grant Scheme 2019.

The city council’s Arts Office provides grants to projects and programmes which aid in the field of contemporary creative art.

These grants support every kind of artform imaginable including music, film, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature, and many more.

In order to be considered for funding the organisation or group:

•         Must operate primarily as an arts organisation

•         May be voluntary or professional

•         Must operate on a not-for-profit basis

•         Must be based in Galway City or operate substantially within the City

This process for the Art Grant Scheme is competitive and funding is limited, so put together a strong application and get it in quickly.

The Arts Office will take into consideration the ambition and innovation of your project, the strength of its ideas, and the opportunities it offers for young and emerging artists.

The deadline for submissions is 4pm on Wednesday, February 13.

The 2018 Arts Grant Scheme doled out €400,000 to 75 organisations around the city.

Most of the 84 applications which were received were successful in the their bid for a grant.

The city council said in March when they received the figures that Galway is the envy of Ireland for its pool of creative and artistic talent.
