Glway Daily what's on ladies day at the Galway races

The fourth day of the Galway Races, widely known as Ladies Day, combines the very best of fashion and racing this summer season.

‘Ladies Day’ has always been about the spectacle, with celebrity judges moving through the crowds to pick out their chosen finalists to bring to the Ladies Day g Marquee parade ring.

The g Hotel & Spa is sponsoring this ‘Ladies Day’ with a €10,000 prize for the winner of the Best Dressed competition, and €2,000 for the Best Hat.

Throughout the day, live music will be played on the course for everyone’s enjoyment.

And of course it wouldn’t be the Galway Races without, you know, some races.

The first of eight races of the day takes place at 1:40pm. The featured race of the day is the ‘Guinness Galway Hurdle Handicap’ with a €300,000 prize for the winner.

All eight races on the card this year are sponsored by Guinness.

Tickets for the Galway Races are €30, with concession prices of €25 for students and €20 for seniors, both of those require valid ID at the gate.

Gates open at the racecourse at 11am.
