2018 might see Galway as the European Region of Gastronomy, but there rich culinary history here being celebrated at A Taste of Galway’s Past.
Next Wednesday at Claregalway Castle, come and see the evidence of Galway’s rich food heritage, and get your hands on some great nibbles while you’re at it.
This free event will have food demonstrations to show visitors how they ate in ye olden days, along with displays of vintage farm machinery and craft making.
For those who want to soak in some more history there will also be free lectures and short films.
Of course it wouldn’t be Galway without a bit of festive craic so expect music and dancing while you explore our food heritage.
A Taste of Galway’s Past is collaboration of many groups including Galway’s Heritage Office, the county council, Galway Community Heritage, ICAN, the Irish Workhouse Centre, Claregalway Castle, Galway & Castlebar Men’s Sheds, Cuan Beo, and Kiltulla and District Vintage Club.
This completely free event will take place next Wednesday, December 12 at Claregalway Castle from 11am to 4pm.
