A 21 year old man has been sent for trial to the Central Criminal Court for alleged rape committed in 2017.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with rape committed at a location in Galway City in March 2017.
At Galway District Court this week an order was made for him to be sent forward to trial at the current sitting of the Central Criminal Court.
Evidence was given of the service of the book of evidence by Garda Parick at a previous sitting of the District Court.
The accused man was remanded on bail with an independent surety.
Judge Mary Fahy granted free legal for both a junior and senior counsel for this case.
