A 42 year old man has been charged with exposing himself to people at a woods on the outskirts of Galway city.
The man, who cannot be named at this point by order of the court, appeared before Galway District Court on charges of exposing himself at Rosshill Woods, Roscam.
He has been charged under Section 45 of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act of 2017.
Gardaí said that evidence will be presented that officers received a call about a male individual exposing themselves.
The Director of Public Prosecutions directed that this matter be handled as a summary offence at the District Court level.
Judge Mary Fahy accepted jurisdiction and adjourned the case to February 10 of next year, where the court will hear the accused’s attitude to the charges.
Bail was granted with conditions, including that the man stay away from the wooded area in question.
