A new initiative helping people in Galway interested in establishing their own start-up company has been extended due to the high level of interest.

The LEO Start campaign is managed by the Local Enterprise Office Galway and provides a targeted supports for different fields of enterprise to help budding entrepreneurs make their start-up a reality.

While this is a nationwide programme, in the past few weeks the LEO Galway has experienced one of the highest levels of interest in the county.

The only areas which have seen a greater level of activity in this campaign are Dublin and Cork.

As a consequence it has decided to extend the programme until November 17 to give more time to accommodate everyone who has shown interest.

Some of the most popular fields expressed include Software & Internet, Food & Agritech, Healthcare/Medtech & Lifesciences and Sports & Leisure.

There’s also been strong expressions of interest in establishing start-ups in sectors including Digital Technologies, Creative & Gaming, and Traded Services.
