The €12m store is Aldi’s 10th in the county and has created up to 30 new permanent jobs in the local area, as part of a continuing €63m expansion programme in the West of Ireland.

The new store has created 30 permanent jobs, bringing the total workforce employed in Galway to almost 200.

The supermarket on Ballygaddy Road has a floor space of 1,315sqm, with 97 car parking spaces, and four electric vehicle charging points.

The store has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, powered by 100% green electricity and featuring solar panels on the roof of the store.
