The first ever Inishbofin Tidings – Storytelling Festival will take place from 9 to 11 September on Inishbofin Island.
This family-friendly festival explores storytelling in various forms and is inviting visitors to come along to tell their stories.
The festival kicks off on Friday 9 September with a book launch and exhibition opening of ‘Stories Untold’ by Veronika Straberger and Marie Coyne and a special screening of ‘Desecration’, a film shot on Inishbofin in the 1980s.
Saturday has something for all ages including, music and storytelling for children, a free creative workshop for young explorers and storytelling events for adults.
Sunday’s family friendly program will end with ‘Stories through Song’, a sean-nós concert featuring Inishbofin’s own Ann Prendergast, Connemara-based Caitríona Ní Cheannabháin and singer-songwriter Inni-K.
Several events are also available for visitors coming for a day trip.
