The annual ‘Knights Before Christmas Concert’ returns again this year to the Galway Cathedral to support the Galway Simon Community.

The Galway based A Capella Knights are hosting their 5th annual Christmas concert in aid of the Galway Simon Community on December 14 at 7:45pm.

A night of festive cheer is a promise, in the magnificent setting of Galway Cathedral and it’s the perfect way to kick off Christmas week.

The A Capella Knights formed in 2013 with members Francis Casey, Mike Davenport, Keith Davies, Brian Hickey and Gary McDonald who all have a background in choir music and wanted to create a male voice group that reflected their musical experience.

They won’t be performing alone, joining them this year are the  Skehana Folk Group, The Frenchville Brass Ensemble, The Hession School of Dance and Galway Simon’s very own Music Project, plus a few special guests.

All together they will make for an incredible night of festive songs, dance, instrumentals and fun to welcome the Christmas season.

Speaking about the concert, the group said “We are delighted to be hosting our Knight’s Before Christmas Concert again this year in support of Galway Simon Community’s services.”

“100% of proceeds will go directly towards Galway Simon’s Health and Wellness fund to help provide essential support to those who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness in our community.”

“The number of people requiring Galway Simon’s help is at an all-time high and this concert is our way of doing something to try and help”.

Last year, the event raised an outstanding €10,000 for Galway Simon Community.

“So come and enjoy a fantastic evening of fun and entertainment for a very worthy cause and help us raise even more money”, said Keith Davies of The A Capella Knights.

Tickets for the concerts cost €15, (€10 concession) and €40 for a family ticket and are available from www.galwaysimon.ie.
