Five Galway attractions were recognised at last night’s CIE Tours Awards of Excellence in Dublin.

Kylemore Abbey, Killary Harbour Cruise, Corrib Princess Cruise, Dan O’Hara Homestead and Dun Aonghasa were all honoured for their success in promoting Irish tourism, receiving a ‘Merit Award’ for high levels of satisfaction among CIE Tours visitors.

CIE Tours, the largest carrier of US visitors to Ireland every year, presented the awards to hoteliers and tourism experiences which achieved approval ratings of over 92% from 25,000 CIE customers who travelled to Ireland last year.

Stephen Cotter, Interim CEO of CIE Tours, congratulated the Galway Merit Award winners, on their achievement.

“Year on year huge effort is made by our partners to improve and enhance their offerings based on the feedback we provide to them from our annual visitor surveys,” he said.

“Their dedication and commitment help to maintain Ireland’s reputation as a leading destination for US visitors.  Each of these businesses make an important contribution to Irish tourism, and to their local communities in terms of jobs and wealth creation.”
