Galway Daily weather Met Eireann issues fresh weather warning for Galway

Met Eireann has issued another weather warning with more freezing temperatures and ice expected in the west of Ireland on Monday night.

The Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning has been issued for all of Connacht, as well as counties Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath.

Sub-zero temperatures are forecast by Met Eireann across Galway tonight, dropping as low as -4 degrees in some inland areas.

Widespread frost and ice are expected, creating hazards such as slippery conditions for walking, dangerous travelling conditions, and welfare hazards for animals.

The weather warning will be in force from 6pm on Monday evening until 10am on Tuesday morning.

It has been a brisk few days as an Arctic airflow has brought sub-zero temperatures the past few nights, but things are starting to look up.

The cold snap will come to an end in the first half of the week according to Met Eireann, with temperatures to rise again from Wednesday on.

This will, however, be accompanied by a return of heavy rain to Galway for most of the week.
