Galway Daily news €500,000 win for Euromillions player in the west

For the third time in less than two weeks, EuroMillions players in Galway are being urged to check their tickets carefully after another player in the West of the country scooped the top prize of €500,000 in last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw.

The winning Quick Pick ticket for last night’s draw was purchased yesterday (Tuesday) at McGreal’s Mace in Ballybrit Court, Ballybrit.

Last Friday, a Ballinasloe player enjoyed a similar win after purchasing their winning ticket at the EuroSpar store at St. Michael’s Square in Townparks.

In the previous Friday night draw, another Ballinasloe player scooped their €500,000 win after purchasing their ticket at the Corrib Oil in Brackernagh.

EuroSpar Shop Manager Beatrice McGreal was over the moon to hear that one of her customers had won the top prize amount and was having a double celebration as her family also owns the store that sold last Friday’s winning ticket.

“After last Friday’s win for EuroSpar in Ballinasloe, I said to my son that good things happen in threes. I never thought the next big win would happen quite so soon after though!” said Beatrice.

“Last night marked the biggest prize that we have ever had at Mace in Ballybrit so there is great excitement here today. I always hoped to get a call with good news from the National Lottery after a big draw so you can imagine our delight.

“We are absolutely thrilled that two of our customers have lots to celebrate in the space of a week. I am sure we’ll see lots of players eager to check their tickets today. The main thing is that we wish the winner health, happiness and that they enjoy this huge win.”

The winning numbers in last night’s  (Tuesday 4th July) EuroMillions Plus draw were: 01, 07, 13, 14, 46.

The National Lottery are appealing to EuroMillions players in the Ballybrit area to carefully check their tickets today as a Galway player now has a ticket worth €500,000.

The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and make contact with the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.

The two top prize winners from the 23 June and 30 June draws have made contact with the National Lottery and arrangements are now being made for the two Friday night winners to collect their €500,000 cheques.

Meanwhile, as there was no winner of the €49,799,831 jackpot on offer last night, Friday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €65 million.
