Funeral of Christopher Stokes to take place in Ballinfoyle today

The funeral mass of Christopher Stokes will take place at 12 noon today at the Church of the Resurrection in Ballinfoyle.

Christopher, who was 19, was one of three teenagers who lost their lives in a tragic accident at Menlo Pier last week when their car entered the River Corrib on Saturday.

Sixteen-year-old John Keenan Sammon, who also died in the tragedy, was laid to rest yesterday following requiem mass at the Church of the Resurrection.

Wojciech Panek from Kilkenny will be cremated on Friday. Wojciech was soon to turn 18 and was undertaking an apprentice carpenter course in Galway.

A notice on rip.ie for Christopher Stokes reads: “Beloved son of Anthony and Kate. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his brothers Michael, Tommy, Tony, and Martin, sisters Annalise, Nicole, Geraldine, Katlyn, and Lucy, nephew Mark, sister-in-law Madelena, grandparents, extended family and his many friends.”

Books of Condolence have also been opened for John and Christopher and Wojciech for people to offer their sympathies to the families.
