Gardaí in Galway have seized a large quantity of cash cigarettes during searches of a car and house in Galway City yesterday.
Cash and cannabis were found when Gardaí searched a car in Knocknacarra, and during a follow-up search of a residence in Salthill they recovered cigarettes worth €70,000 along with €3,100 cash and a small quantity of suspected amphetamines.
No arrests were made, but Gardaí say they are however following a definite line of inquiry.
The drugs seized are subject to analysis and the investigation is ongoing.
