Another Orange weather warning for temperatures well below freezing, along with ice and freezing fog, is in effect for Galway this evening.
Met Eireann has put in place the Status Orange Low Temperature/Ice warning for Galway, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, and Roscommon.
It will be extremely cold on Thursday night, with temperatures below -5 degrees expected widely away from coastal areas.
This will bring with it severe frost and ice, creating hazardous driving conditions, which will be made worse by freezing fog.
The Orange warning is in effect from 6pm on Thursday until noon on Friday.
A Status Yellow warning which has been in effect for the entire cold snap since last weekend will also expire at the same time tomorrow.
Galway has seen some of the coldest temperatures in the country over the past few days, with -8 degrees seen on multiple nights inland.
