Galway City Council is inviting local sports clubs to apply for the annual Sports Club Grant Scheme within the next month.
The annual scheme, delivered by the council and Galway Sports Partnership, provides local clubs with grants of up to €3,500.
In order to qualify, clubs must be located within the city, or have at least two thirds of their active members resident in the city.
Grant money can be used to cover day to day expenses such as kit, training equipment, transport, etc. up to 70% of the total grant awarded, with at least 30% going to coach development costs.
This ratio is 80% to 20% for clubs within the RAPID areas of Galway City. Schools and other educational facilities are not eligible.

The deadline for applications to the scheme this year is 11pm on Sunday, October 2. Applications can be submitted using the online application form.
