A man in his 50s has been sent forward to trial for alleged defilement of a minor in Galway City.

Evidence was given to Galway District Court by Detective Garda John Horkan this week, that a book of evidence had been served on the accused

The man has been charged with two counts of defilement of a child under the age of 17.

The offences are alleged to have occurred at an address in Galway City in 2017.
