A cyclist has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a crash north of Tuam on Monday evening.
Gardaà and emergency services attended the scene of a collision involving a truck and a bicycle yesterday.
The collision occurred at Russelltown, Milltown, Tuam at approximately 5:30pm on Monday.
The cyclist, a male in his late teens, was taken to University Hospital Galway to be treated for his injuries.
He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where a garda spokesperson said that his condition is described to be serious.
The road was closed to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators. This has since concluded and the road has reopened.
Gardaà in Tuam are appealing for witnesses to come forward and to those with camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to them.
