Galway will have an unsettled weekend ‘s weather, with clear skies and sun to develop this evening, but more cloud and showers predicted.

Monday will pick up as the day goes, with often thundery showers giving way to bright spells and sunshine as the afternoon goes on.

Highest temperatures today of 13 to 15 degrees, dropping to around 12 degrees overnight, with moderate gusty west and southwesterly winds throughout.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, broken by a few scattered showers and bright spells in places Met Eireann says.

Light to moderate south and southwesterly winds tomorrow, with highest average temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees.

Sunday will be a better dose of weekend weather. Though there will be some light rain in places in the early morning, sunshine is expected to break through the clouds by evening.

Temperatures on Sunday will reach highs of 13 to 16 degrees, with a moderate southwesterly wind.

Heading into next week, it looks like Monday at least promises more of the sunshine we’ve been starting to enjoy in recent days.

Some heavier rain will develop on Tuesday evening and Wednesday, but more clear skies are expected on either side of that.
