Galway Daily weather Met Eireann issues fresh weather warning for Galway

This weekend will see temperatures fall below freezing across Galway, but Met Éireann has forecast plenty of spring sunshine and blue skies over the coming days.

Today, Thursday, will see a mix of sunny spells and some showers with the showers mainly occurring later this afternoon and evening.

Maximum temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees are forecast for this afternoon in moderate northwest breezes.

It will turn cold on Thursday night with temperatures plummeting to as low as -2 in parts of the West, with widespread frost and some ice expected.

Met Éireann say that Friday will be bright, with morning frost clearing to leave sunny spells for much of Galway.

Temperatures will reach between 6 and 9 degrees on Friday afternoon.

Saturday is expected to be a beautiful day with blue skies forecast across the country.

After a cold and frosty start to the day, maximum temperatures on Saturday will range between 7 and 10 degrees in moderate northeast winds.

It will be cold and mostly dry again on Saturday night with minimum temperatures falling to -3 in the West.

The weekend will end in much the same way – cold with spells of sunshine – but things look set to take a turn for the worse next week as wet and blustery conditions are likely to return by Tuesday.
