Met Éireann has issued its second status yellow weather warning for Galway today, with a snow/ice warning to be in place from 10pm tonight (Wednesday) until midday on Thursday.
Showers of hail, sleet and snow as well as freezing temperatures will lead to hazardous driving conditions due to ice on untreated surfaces, Met Éireann says.
Some thunder and lightning is also expected across the West.
A warning for wind was issued earlier today by the weather chiefs, which will be in effect between 8am and 6pm on Thursday.
The snow/ice warning was issued for all counties in the Republic, while four counties in the North will also have a status yellow warning tomorrow.
