A Galway restaurant has been awarded the coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand status in the latest round of awards from the prestigious Michelin Guide.

Éan restaurant, wine bar, and bakery is one of three new Irish additions to the Bib Gourmand guide announced today.

The Bib Gourmand guide recognises establishments that offer a simple yet skillfully delivered three course meal for under €40.

Éan comes from a world classic establishment, as it is owned by Enda McEvoy and Sinead Meacle, the properties of the Michelin Star restaurant Loam in the city.

“So it’s no surprise to see a similar approach to seasonality, sourcing and sustainability at this artisan bakery-cum-café, which morphs into a wine bar in the evenings,” the guide states.

“Pastries, sandwiches, salads and soups are on the menu at lunch, while dinner sees creative, confidently executed dishes like squid toast with white miso & bonito, or lamb shoulder with cider carrots, designed for sharing.

“A natural, biodynamic and organic wine list completes the picture,” the assessment concludes.
