A Book of Condolences in memory of Ashling Murphy has been opened by the Mayor of Galway City.

Mayor of the City of Galway, Councillor Colette Connolly, opened the online Book and it will be available to the public for the entry of messages of sympathy.

Cllr Connolly expressed her own sympathies to the Murphy family, who are laying their daughter to rest today.

Ar mo shon féin agus ar son Chathair na Gaillimhe déanaimid comhbhrón le clann Murphy.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dilís agus sólas dá muintir.”

“My Deepest Sympathies to the Murphy family on the tragic, terrible loss of their daughter Ashling and also to her extended family and friends.

Wishing you strength and comfort at this difficult time.”

Ashling Murphy was killed while out running by the Grand Canal in Tullamore last Wednesday.

Her funeral is taking place this morning at St. Brigid’s Church, Mountbolus at 11am.
