Podiatry services are set to begin at Athenry Primary Care Centre from December with a vacant post filled.
Galway East TD Seán Canney said that the HSE has confirmed that a senior podiatrist has been appointed for the Primary Care Centre.
Podiatry services are now set to get underway at the centre from next month.
“I have been contacted by many people in the Athenry area and I have been highlighting the lack of Podiatry services,” Seán Canney said.
“I acknowledge the efforts of the Community Health Care West in securing the Podiatrist and ensuring the services is available locally in Athenry.”
“It is important that these types of services are available in the community as many people are elderly and a local service is vital for them.”
