The number of COVID-19 patients in Galway’s public hospitals has decreased slightly to 33 in the latest HSE data taken yesterday evening.
Twenty-eight of the confirmed cases are receiving treatment at University Hospital Galway, while there are six patients with the disease at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Three of the COVID patients at UHG are in the intensive care unit and there are two patients receiving critical care at Portiuncula Hospital.
The number of confirmed cases in hospitals nationally decreased from 460 yesterday morning at 8am to 449 at 8pm yesterday evening.
University Hospital Galway was the hospital with the most confirmed cases in the previous 24 hours.
UHG also had one suspected COVID case when the data was taken.
