Homes and businesses across parts of north Galway are expected to experience water outages and disruptions due to a burst mains today.
Galway County Council has reported that a burst mains at Caltragh, Caherlistrane is causing outages across multiple areas.
This is affecting the water supply to the Liss Shrule Road, Loggawina, Cloughanover, Headford Kilconly, Shrule and surrounding areas.
These outages have lasted overnight, after the burst pipe was first reported shortly after 10pm on Wednesday.
Repair works are underway this morning, and are currently expected to be completed before 5pm this afternoon.
People experiencing water outages today are advised that it may take 2 – 3 hours after repairs are completed before their full supply returns.
A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.
