There was no change in the number of COVID-19 patients receiving care in Galway’s public hospitals over the weekend.
As of 8pm on Sunday evening, there are 13 people with the disease at University Hospital Galway and one further case at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Five of the confirmed cases at UHG were in the intensive care unit, while the one patient with the disease at Portiuncula Hospital on Sunday evening was in ICU.
The Department of Health reported 1,459 new cases of COVID-19 in the State yesterday afternoon.
