Local communities which are planning festivals or events in Galway city in the coming months may be eligible for a small scale grant under the Local Community Festivals Grant Scheme.
Galway City Council announced the scheme today with the aim of supporting local festivals in local areas to encourage participation in community life.
The scheme will support events which are organised and run by local residents as a way to reconnect the local community in line with the next phase of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of €12,000 is available through the scheme this year, with interested local communities invited to apply online.
Applications can be completed online here, and all proposals must comply with COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.
The closing date for applications online under the Local Community Festivals 2021 is Friday, 1 October 2021 at 4pm.
