Nightly water restrictions in place on Inis Oírr have been extended for another three weeks.
Irish Water imposed nightly restrictions on the island’s supply back at the start of May.
The restrictions were introduced due to a drop in water reservoir levels on Inis Oírr.
They were originally set with a rolling date to end which was later pushed out to September 1, and has now been extended again.
They will now remain in place until at least September 24, and will continue nightly from 11pm to 7am the following morning.
Last year saw the Aran Island under nightly restrictions from later April until mid-August due to low reservoir levels, until a sustained spell of rain raised them.
