Four Galway products will be hitting Aldi’s shelves in June after two local companies won contracts with the supermarket chain through its Grow with ALDI supplier development programme.
Ale and Lager from Connemara Brewing Company and Vegan Protein Co.’s Chocolate and Berry blends, will be available in all Aldi stores from Saturday 6 June for two weeks.
The Galway products will join 104 other Irish-made products from 57 suppliers across the country and will go on sale nationwide as part of an Aldi Specialbuys event.
Hilary Foley of the Vegan Protein Co. said that they were absolutely delighted to be selected as a part of the Grow with Aldi programme in 2021.
“After such a momentous year for our business – and the world – it has been so rewarding to work with the team at Aldi to get our fantastic products highlighted to Irish consumers,” said Hilary.
“We have learned so much and look forward to a wonderful working partnership with Aldi for (hopefully!) many years to come!”
A diverse range of products have been selected for 2021, including books, cheese, a makeup brush cleaner, chocolate, tea and dog food.
The Grow with ALDI programme focused on sustainability this year, and entrants were encouraged to demonstrate how their product or company is focusing on sustainability.
In the last four years, almost 800 Irish suppliers have entered the Grow with Aldi programme with the programme receiving the highest number of entrants ever in 2021.
