There were nine people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Galway in the latest figures from the HSE.
As of Saturday evening there were five confirmed cases at Portiuncula, and four at University Hospital Galway.
Of those COVID patients, two were in the Intensive Care Unit at UHG, and one was in the ICU at Portiuncula.
Nationwide there were 350 people hospitalised with COVID-19 as of yesterday evening, of whom 83 were in the ICU.
One death among intensive care patients was recorded in the 24 hours prior, and 50 patients were on ventilators.
A further 22 new cases were reported in Galway yesterday, out of 525 nationwide.
